Halloween activities continue this week in Anderson County, as the spooky season culminates on Saturday, which is the official spooky day for 2026.

In Rocky Top, several local churches have joined to set up a Halloween “trunk-or-treat” event to be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the George Templin Memorial Field, next to the Rocky Top library.

Trick-or-treaters are expected to be out in force on Saturday evening, with some of the most-popular routes for treat gathering including the Mariner Point neighborhoods in Clinton and some of the streets in Norris.

Other trunk-or-treat events are planned throughout the area for Saturday evening.

One of the season’s favorite events in the Clinton area, the Norris Halloween Trail, took place last Saturday evening.

“Nearly 900 trail guests and volunteers joined us for an afternoon of spooky fun, sweet treats, and Halloween excitement,” the Norris Recreation Commission noted on its Facebook page on Sunday.

Perhaps the area’s most-popular event, the annual Clinton Trick-or-Treat at the Community Center on Hicks Street, drew huge crowds on Sunday afternoon.

People, including hundreds of costumed kids, lined up on the streets outside the Community Center just waiting to get inside, where dozens of “treat stations” were set up in the large room, representing community groups, school clubs and sports teams, and local businesses.

Lots of candy was passed out, and there seemed to be an endless supply in spite of the huge crowd.
