ROBERT EDWARD LONG

Robert Edward Long, 56, Andersonville, passed away suddenly doing something for the ones he loved, Monday, April 15, 2019.
He was born in Lake City Aug. 1, 1962, to parents Jim and Jenny Mae Long. He grew up on the family farm with 10 brothers and sisters on Laurel Road and graduated from Clinton High School. He made a living as a contractor and farmer. His contracting career began at Evans Construction where he remained for many years, to his most recent employment at Hicks Construction, where he built many staples within the community from the Git N Go markets to the Anderson County Detention Center, as well as South Clinton Elementary School. He raised quarter horses for many years but most recently raised cattle at his farm in Andersonville. You would typically find him in the hay fields or driving around town in his red Ford flatbed. He was the hardest working man to ever grace this earth and cared deeply for his Family. He never knew a stranger and touched so many with his outgoing and infectious personality. To sum Robert up would take a book, but to keep it short he was the best you could find in a man in every way. From his belly laugh to his big bear hugs he could lift you up just being in his presence. Although most will remember him as a hard worker that was always on the go, his children will remember him as their hero. He lived his life for others in all things but most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Jim and Jenny Mae Long; sisters, Rosa Mae Brooks, Jackie Long Dyer and Janie Long Jones, all of Clinton.
His survivors include: Fiance, Miranda Murphy and son Keegan of Andersonville; daughter, Dawn (Chris) Lawson of Andersonville; daughter, Carrissa (Austin) Keathley of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Hallie McClure and Brayden Lawson of Andersonville, Haiden Keathley of Oak Ridge; brother, Roger (Sharon) Long of Powell; brother, Nelson (Kathy) Long of Clinton; brother, Clifton (Christi) Long of Clinton; brother, James “Buddy” (Jean) Long of Charlestown, W. Va.; sisters, Cleo (Charlie) Robbins, Mary (Willard) Sprouse, Dorothy (Jerry) Brooks, all of Clinton; brother-in-law Frank Dyer of Lenoir City; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends; Kenneth Evans of Andersonville and family, Earl (Amy) Johnson of Heiskell and family.
Receiving of friends and family is scheduled for 6 – 8 p.m. Friday April 19, 2019, at Holley Gamble in Clinton. Procession is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Holley Gamble to interment at R.W. Long Cemetery to follow.

WILLIAM HULEN LEE

William Hulen Lee, 81, Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday April 10, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born on June 1 8, 1937, in High Splint, Ky., the son of Rev. William Hurst and Lillie Lee. In 1944 William moved with his family to the Beech Grove community of Lake City. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1956, and from Union University in Jackson in 1960 with a B.S. degree in biology.
He served from 1960-66 in the U.S. Amy Reserves after undergoing eight weeks of basic combat training in Company B, Second Battalion, First Training Regiment of the U.S. Army Training Center in Fort Jackson, S.C. Mr. Lee retired from Martin Marietta Energy System in 1997 from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after working 37 years in the Biology Division where he worked as a research associate and supervisor.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge where he served as usher and as deacon, teacher, and trustee at neighb01ing Baptist Church prior to his membership at First Baptist.
In 2010 he was inducted into the Anderson County Hall of Fame as male athlete based on his outstanding records while playing basketball at Lake City High School 1952-56 and at Union University in 1956-1960. He was a long-time coach at the Boys Club of Oak Ridge and a life time fan of The University of Kentucky basketball. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker as well as a daily walker. He could readily identify wildflowers, plants, and trees as well as animals found in the woods and streams. He was especially fond of taking his grandchildren to explore in the woods and creeks just as his father had done with him. Arranging landscape rocks was another outdoor interest. Other hobbies were the collecting of art glass and of vintage marbles. Although he had many interests his primary love was for his family; his wife, children and grandchildren. His constant faith in God sustained him throughout his life.
Preceded in death by: Parents, the Rev. William Hurst Lee and Lillie Lee; sisters, Wilma O'Bannon and Thelma Pace; and brother, Elmer H. Lee.
His survivors include: Wife of 59 years, Barbara Wilson Lee; son, William Kent Lee of Oak Ridge; son, Clark Wilson Lee (Dr. Mary Lou Lee) of Knoxville; grandchildren, Andrew Lee (Viviana) Winston-Salem, N.C., Erin Lee and Christopher Lee, and their mother Michelle Lee of Clinton; and great-grandchild, Alayna Lee of Winston-Salem N.C.; niece, Beth Lee Palmer (Greg) and their children Peyton, Preston, Parker, and Pryce; nephew, Scott Lee (Jill) and son Tanner, all of Oak Ridge; nieces Pam Dunsieth (Marvin) of Frankfort, Ky., and Martha Mitchell (Steve) of Louisville, Ky., Denise (Mitch) Dougherty of Lake City, Matthew (Becky) Boggs of Fayetteville, N.C., Brian (Eva) Foust of Knoxville, Jennifer (Keith) Galloway of Knoxville, and Todd (Katie) Wilson of Oak Ridge.
Receiving of Friends was from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday April 13, 2019, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge with the Rev. Rory Naeve officiating. Internment followed at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.

KENNETH ‘ANCIL’ BEAN

Kenneth “Ancil” Bean, 85, Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born in Anderson County to the late Virgil and Roxie Bean on Aug. 26, 1933. Kenneth was a fisherman, he enjoyed gardening, and most of all he enjoyed his family and grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by: Wife, Arettia Bean; sons, Kenneth Ray Bean, Virgil Bean, and Billy Joe Bean; brothers, Earl Bean, H.V. Bean and Franklin Bean; sister, Iva Scarbrough.
Kenneth is survived by: Grandson, Robin Wayne and wife Brittany; son, Clyde Bean wife Christina; daughter, Arietta Wayne; brother, Virgil Bean Jr.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 201,9 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m.
The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019, at Anderson Memorial Garden.

Paul Edward Foust, 72, LaFollette, formerly of the Medford community in Rocky Top, went home to be with the Lord, with his loved ones by his bedside, Saturday, April 6, 2019.
He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Caryville and attended Bear Wallow Baptist Church in Caryville. Paul was a loving husband of 51 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working outdoors in his garden, running bulldozers, and backhoes, playing in dirt.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Roy Lee Foust Sr. and Lucille (Martin) Foust; sister, Mary Lou Collins.
Paul is survived by: Wife, Carolyn (Wilson) Foust of LaFollette; son, the Rev. Jerry Foust and wife Debra of Caryville; daughter, Rebecca (Foust) Bowling and husband Ray of Jacksboro; brothers, Roy Lee “RL” Foust Jr. of Rocky Top, Gene Foust and wife Sue of Rocky Top, David Foust and wife Michelle of North Carolina; grandchildren, Timothy Bowling and wife Tia of Jacksboro, Faith (Bowling) Stevens and husband Eric of Farragut, Joshua Bowling of Jacksboro, Jacob Foust and wife MaKala of Caryville, Maria and Brittany Foust of Caryville; great-grandchildren, Bentli Beaty, Emilia Stevens, and Grayson Foust; special niece, Sherry Woodward; several other nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Visitation was from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, followed by funeral service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Foust and the Rev. Charlie Golden officiating.
Friends and family met 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 1 p.m. interment.

Edgar James Martin, 90, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019.
Edgar was born Nov. 4, 1928, to the late Theodore and Rosie Martin.
In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by: Wife, Beulah Martin; and brothers, Bill and Otis Martin.
Edgar is survived by: Wife, Geraldine Carter of Clinton; sons, Gary and wife Betty Martin of Clinton, Mike and wife Debbie Martin of Batavia, Ohio; sisters, Geraldine and husband Mike Lewis of Andersonville, Ruth and husband Javan Chambers of Williamsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer Hatmaker, Jamie Martin, and Amy Byrd; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hatmaker, Aleah Hatmaker, and Abbigail Hatmaker. Edgar is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann Young Sams, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in Clarksville Thursday, April 4, 2019.
The cause was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. to the late Arthur and Kathleen Young. Mary enjoyed sewing, drinking coffee and Pepsi, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, Elvis Presley, Clay Walker, Conway Twitty, camping when she was able, and spending time with her babies, grandbabies, and great-grandbabies. She was a member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church as well as most recently City Lights Church.
Mary was preceded in death by: Husband and soulmate, Joe Mac Sams; and brothers, John Harold Young, and Robert Harold Young.
May was also an amazing mom to: Lisa Ann Bean (Larry), Danny Joe Sams (Heather); a loving and out of this world “nina” to: Nicci Brewer (Cory), Cassie McKamey (Lucas), Joey Bean (Destani), Aarron Sams, Braxton Sams, Waylon Brewer, Peyton Bean, and soon to be born Bryleigh Bean; and a loving sister to: Tresa Young, and Rick Young.
“The angels gathered near your beside so very close to you for they knew the pain and suffering that you were going through.
We thought about so many things as we held tightly to your hands. Oh, how we wished that you were healthy, but your eyes were looking homeward to that place beyond the sky where Jesus held His outstretched arms. It was time to say goodbye.
We struggled with selfish thoughts for wanting you to stay so we could just sit and talk again like we did yesterday, but Jesus knew the answer and we knew you loved him so, we gave life’s greatest gift.

Visitation was from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Peyton Wills officiating.
Interment followed the funeral service at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge.

Much beloved husband, father, and papaw, Daniel Keith Lambert, 83, Clinton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, and in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born March 6, 1936, in Marine, W.Va., to the late William and Asia Lambert. Daniel was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by: Grandson, Steven DuFour; brothers, Bob, Ralph, and Ronnie; and sisters, Violet, Faye, Fern, and Sue.
Daniel is survived by: Wife of 59 years, JoAnn Clowser Lambert of Clinton; daughters, Michell Womble and husband Vince of Jacksonville, Fla., Kelly Desjardins and husband Jon of Cocoa, Fla., Danni Lambert and husband Bo of Maryville; sons, Daniel Lambert Jr. of Clinton, Shane Lambert and wife LaVonda of Heiskell, and Shawn Lambert and wife Tera of Corryton; grandchildren, Amanda Lapine and husband Jeff, Daniel Wiles and wife Holly, Robert Schmidt and wife Whitney, Marshall Hatfield, Joseph Schmidt, Brandon Lambert, Hunter Lambert, Haygan Lambert, and Logan Lambert; great-grandchildren, Derek Wiles, Judah Schmidt, Dustin Lapine, and Lydia Schmidt.
A ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019, at the East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, with full military honors at the graveside.

Mary Helen Worthington, 75, Andersonville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 30, 2019.
She was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Clinton to the late Clarence and Ruby Carden Reed. She was a born again Christian and member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church where she attended church faithfully. Mary loved going to the mountains, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by: Husband, Don Worthington; sister, Juanita Cox; brothers, James, and Pete Reed.
Survived by: Children, Eddie Worthington and wife Shannon, Julie West and husband Lynwood, Brandon Parrott, “son-like”, Kathy Witt and husband Allen, “daughter-like”; siblings, Geneva Vowell, Pearl Johns and husband Arnold; beloved cat, Bobo; special friends, Judy Irwin and Mildred Parrott; grandchildren, Savannah Worthington, Christopher West, Justin Oswalt, Tristian West, Ethan Slover, Eli Slover, Evan Slover, and Bryce Leatherwood.
