Some of those include her husband Leonard Vickery; mother and father, Horace and Janie White Russell; brothers, Bill, Howard, Fred, Harry Lee and Joe Russell; sisters, Mary Maude (Dugan) Duncan, Georgia Kelly, Zella Mae Stewart, Jessie Gibbs and Juanita, who passed as an infant, Mary Ann Harper and Dewey Grundy, who were considered as a sister and brother as well.
Left to continue the example of her love and sacrifice are her children: Sons, Melvin (Patricia), Dexter (Teresa), Dennis, Mark and Stacy; daughters, Phyllis (Ronnie) Woodard and Peggy Vickery; grandchildren, Casey Lee (Thomas), Shawn Vickery (Christy), Melissa Melton (Robert), Lisa Berrios (David), Carrie Stewart (Brian), Daniel Vickery (Hannah), Victoria Phillips and Tiffany Brown (Eddie); and 18 great-grandchildren; along with a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Jean White Vickery.
Aunt Polly held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews on both sides of our family and was shown love, respect and gratitude in their response to the love she had always shown their families, especially the Russell/White descendants as she was the only surviving family member. She spent many hours with family who wanted to go through her "Jottum down" scrapbooks and collections of many dates of births, deaths and interesting trivia about family and friends over the years.
Mom was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Anderson County and lived most of her life in Marlow. She was an active member of the Poplar Creek Baptist Church since1948 when she accepted Christ as her Savior under the preaching of her father-in-law, Pastor John Vickery. She served on committees, taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school and brought weekly lessons to the shut-ins before her health prevented her to do so. Mom worked in Magnet Mills until her first child was born, later writing the Marlow News for the Clinton Courier. She was well-known for her stack cakes, her chicken and dumplings and her quilts which were displayed in Windrock Gallery. Mom loved to read and feed every person that came to her door.
The Vickery family wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who called, sent a card, visited and especially prayed for our family during Mom's illness. So much love and support has been shown our family. We can’t name all of you. May God bless you as you have blessed us, especially our sister, Peggy Vickery, Dr. Ann Carter, Avalon Hospice, Kat Childs, Poplar Creek Baptist Church, Jean White Vickery, Bertha Smith Lowe and Sheila Russell.

EUNICE EMILY JEAN WEBSTER DUNCAN RENTZ
October 2, 2019
Eunice Emily Jean Webster Duncan Rentz, born in Clinton at home Jan. 31, 1928, passed away in Clinton at home Oct. 2, 2019.
She lived almost her entire life within three square miles of these homes.
Today she lives in the home God prepared for her in Heaven to live eternally with all her family and friends who have gone on before her.
She leaves behind a community of family and friends that she has prayed for over the years that they too may join her someday.
Her greatest treasure on this earth was her precious daughter, Susan Rose Duncan, whom she always said was God’s greatest gift to her.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews she has loved and cared for over the years, along with her friends at the First Wesleyan Church in Clinton which she attended all of her life.
She was married to Austin Duncan whom she loved and adored for 40 years. God blessed her with a second marriage to Lamar Rentz who brought her and Susan years of happiness and joy.
She was the daughter of Arch and Minnie (Silvey) Webster. She was preceded in death by: Seven siblings, Hazel (Newman) Ridenour, Bruce (Jean) Webster, Thelma (Dan) Stowe, Madalyne (Jim) Johnson, Charles Webster, Roy (Gladys) Webster and Billy (Nellie) Webster.
We, the nieces, nephews and three caretakers who were like daughters to her, mourn the loss of our sweet, loving, nurturing, funny, keeper of our family’s history of how she and her siblings grew up in Clinton. She loved Jesus, her family, church, music, and people, shopping at Hammer’s and yard sales, working at Hoskins in the Flats. She was a writer of innumerable songs and poems. In the moments before her passing we found a poem which she had written. We read to her and sang songs as she stepped over into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She left us with a smile on her face.
“Heaven’s Joy”
Oh, what joy in heaven
When we enter there.
Meeting all our loved ones
So much there to share.
Forever and forever, never ever to part
When I get to heaven, joy will fill my heart.
