LEROY JOBE

Leroy Jobe, 78, Lake City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at Summit View of Rocky Top.

He was born April 28, 1941, in Campbell County to the late Raymond and Dorothy Brown Jobe. Leroy loved cars was a loving father and husband, loved his kids and grandchildren. He also loved fishing, painting cars, hunting and working in his yard.

Leroy was preceded in death by: Parents; son, Roy Jr.; grandson, Skyler; and son-In-law, Keith O'Connor.

He is survived by: Wife, Mary Ruth Jobe; daughters, Jennifer Marie Jobe (Poodle) and Charles, Brenda Gail Brown (Poss) and James, Mary Jane O'Connnor (Puss); brothers, Curtis Jobe, Lawrence Jobe, Raymond Jobe; sister, Mary Lee and Hubert Marlow; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; several other Nieces and Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Per Leroy's request he was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

MARY EMILY SHARP

Mary Emily Sharp, 91, Mossy Grove, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, as she was surrounded be her loving family.

She was a resident of Life Care Center of Morgan County. Mary loved singing and testifying about what the Lord had done for her. She was a devoted Christian of the Apostolic faith. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a friend to all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by: Husband, Dea O. Sharp; sister, Lula Mae Kennedy; brother, Delford Marlow; daughter-in-law, Shirley Sharp; sons-in-law, Don Wilson, and Allen Duncan; grandson, Ray Golden; and her father and stepmother, Starl and Martha Marlow.

She is survived by: Sister, Susie Daugherty (Alvin) of Clinton; sons, Dea Junior Sharp of Cleveland, David Sharp (Kathy) of Mossy Grove, Estill Sharp (Janet) of Clinton, Timmy Sharp (Carolyn) of Oakdale, Stevie Sharp (Tammy) of Sunbright, and Clyde Sharp (Barbara) of Sunbright; daughters, Clara Belle Golden (Donald Ray) of Lake City, Rosa Lee Wilson of Briceville, Bonnie Carroll (Edd) of Wartburg, Mary Cox (Robert) of Oakdale, and Ruby Hedden (Mark) of Benton; and four generations of 100-plus grandchildren that she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends from noon – 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Virgil Gibson officiating.

Graveside services will be held following the funeral at Circle Cemetery in Briceville.

FRED JONES JR.

Fred Jones Jr., 82, Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Fred was of the Baptist faith, and he served in the Vietnam War, loved inventing new things, and fishing.

Fred was preceded in death by: Parents, Fred Curtis and Ola Mae (Wilshire) Jones; and one son, Timothy Clayton Jones.

He is survived by: Wife, Mary Ruth (Hill) Jones; sons, Clifford Jones and Cory Shane Jones; daughter, Rose Marvell Phillips and husband Larry; grandchildren, Clifford Jones, Erin Montgomery and husband Justin, Megan Jones, Danielle Stewart and husband Bud, and Larry Daniel and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Austin, Cody, Natalie, Isabella and Sophie all of Clinton.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Anderson Memorial Park in Clinton.

CAROLYN (HOME) TISON

Loving, selfless, sweet, thoughtful, beautiful, genuine and kind. These are just a few words that describe our Mom. Carolyn (Horne) Tison, 71, wife, mother, sister, Nana, and friend left this world to be with Jesus, her Savior and Lord July 10, 2019, at home in the presence of her family.

Carolyn loved Jesus, her family and others. She always carried a song of praise in her heart and shared those songs as she moved through life. She was a dedicated and humble servant in various church communities including: Temple Baptist Church and Stillwaters Baptist Church. Born on Aug. 19, 1947, Carolyn was the oldest daughter of the late Carroll and Margaret “Peggy” Horne of Cloverdale, Va.

Despite a prolonged battle with kidney disease, Carolyn was strong in the Lord and was ready to be called home.

She was preceded in death by: Husband, Thomas Tison of 51 years; and is survived by: Son, Tom Tison and wife Christy of Knoxville; son, Matthew Tison and wife Tenaya of Knapp of Wisconsin; daughter, Catherine Wilkins and husband Mike of Landenberg, Penn.; and daughter, Sarah Tison of Heiskell: three siblings, Jim Horne and his wife Joy of Chesapeake, Va.; Patty Dogan and husband James of Cloverdale, Va.; and Linda Harris and husband Charlie of Aiken, S.C.;sSeven grandchildren, Emalie Tison, Grey Tison, Thomas-Allan Tison, Cole Wilkins, Jonathan Tison, Dylan Wilkins, and Shelton Tison.

Carolyn will be remembered for her sweet spirit; her artistic ability which she taught and shared with others; decades of faithfully teaching Sunday school classes; and her caring selfless service to Jesus, her family, and those around her. It is with great joy she stands before the Lord today and is reunited with her husband Tom and other loved ones, hearing from her Savior, “Well done thou good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of thy Lord”. (Mt. 25:21) We are incredibly thankful to God for every moment we had with her and look forward to seeing her again. “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4)

Joining Carolyn’s family and friends on Sunday, July 14 2019, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home for visitation from 3 - 5 p.m. with a celebration of life service following.

The family held a private graveside on Monday, July 15, 2019, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

MARK STEVEN GREEN

Mark Steven Green, 58, Knoxville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Mark enjoyed sports, collecting baseball and football cards, he had a great sense of humor and loved to make a deal.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Dorothy Selvidge Green.

He is survived by: Daughter, Amber Presnell and fiancé Tim Daniel of Sevierville; grandchildren, Korbin, Baylyn, and M.J.; sister, Tina and husband Glen Burress of Knoxville; niece, Ashley Osborn of Knoxville; and many other relatives and friends.

BOBBY BICE

Bobby Bice, 82, Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his residence.

He was born in Copperhill on April 10, 1937, to the late Carl Russell Bice Sr. and Georgia Mae Whitlow. Bobby was a member of Farmer’s Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, houseboating, gardening, and being on the lake. Bobby loved traveling and spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceeded in death by: Step-mother, Rachael Mitchell Bice; brother, Carl R. Bice Jr.; sister, Annette Galloway; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bice, Gladys Bice, and Norma Bice; brother-in-law, Wade Galloway; special friends, Jack and Jane Marquiss

Survived by: Son, John Bice and fiancé Cindy; siblings, Bernice Loy and husband Cleveland, Paul Bice, Gene Bice, Jannette Byrd and husband Don, Sam Bice and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Ashley and Christopher Bice; special friend, Christine Marquiss; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

JANICE DIANE CAPPS

Janice Diane Capps, 66, Clinton, passed away at her residence Friday, July 5, 2019.

Janice graduated from Fulton High School in 1971 and was a registered nurse at several hospitals in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, George “Pee Wee” and Louise Cash; daughters, Kristi Capps and Heather Saltkill; husband, Freddy Capps; brother, Larry Wayne Cash.

She is survived by: Grandsons, Austin and Alex Saltkill; son-in-law, Kevin Saltkill; sister, Lisa Estes and husband Nick; brother, Jerry Cash and wife Linda; nephews, David Cash, Steve Cash and wife Rita, and Rusty Mink; nieces, Kayla Hutchison and husband Victor, Emaleigh Reagan and husband Lee, Brandi Sutherland and husband Patrick

CORA LEE (BROWN) MILAM

Cora Lee (Brown) Milam, Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Briceville, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 4, 2019, after a lengthy illness.

Cora was saved as a young girl and has always been a devoted Christian. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Homer Milam. Cora met Homer, a young preacher from West Virginia, in the late 1950’s. But his life was cut short when he had a massive heart attack in 1977.

Cora enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved, especially the little ones. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Cora was also preceded in death by: Seven brothers, Earnest Brown and wife Reba, Elmer Brown and wife Annette, Leon Brown, Merlyn Brown, Franklin Brown, Virgil Brown, and Clayborn Brown; three sisters, Glenna Carroll, Wilma Braden, and Mary Lou Brown.

Cora is survived by: Son, Stephen Milam and wife Patti; daughter, Sharron Vance, all of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Joyce Huston and husband Robby, Richard Vance Jr., all of Cleveland, Ohio, Justin Milam and wife Chantil of Upper Arlington, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Cora is also survived by: Three brothers, William Brown and wife Bobbie, John L. Brown and wife Joann, all of Briceville, Carl Brown of Clinton; one sister, Zenna Bailey and husband Earl of Briceville; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jason Goans and the Rev. Charlie Green officiating.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at Brown's Flat Cemetery in Briceville.
