CHERYL ANNE BIGGS

Cheryl Anne Biggs, the morning of June 1, 2019, Cheryl passed away peacefully at The Waters of Clinton as a result of her chronic health conditions at the age of 61.

Cheryl Biggs was born in Waynesboro, Va., on July 8, 1957. She was the third child, and second daughter of Gloria Anne Mastbrook (Baird) and Hubbard Lee Hill.

Cheryl always had a smile on her face and a prayer on her lips. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. She loved to share her joy and prayers with anyone willing. She had an eternally joyful demeanor despite her recent health battles. Cheryl's children and granddaughters were the pride and joy of her life. She always made early morning birthday calls to them on their special day where she would gleefully sing a special birthday wish that was off key and out of tune. Before her health declined, she was always present at every event and special occasion for her family. She never missed an opportunity to uplift and praise them. Cheryl's indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. She never lost her faith, despite her chronic condition and rapidly declining health. The legacy of Cheryl's kind spirit, passion for Christ, love of Bible study and prayer, and zest for life will live on through her family and friends.

Preceded in death by: Sister, Vivian "Bibby" Sneed of Tullahoma;, and father, Hubbard Lee Hill.

Cheryl is survived by: Mother and stepfather, Gloria and Clarence Baird; daughter, Chasity Morris of Ludington, Mich., whom she loved and missed very much; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Brian Lawson of Clinton, whom helped her through her daily stuggles and she loved dearly; brother and wife, Lee and Patrice Hill; sister, Janemarie Cave of Mt. Juliet; sister, Julie and Gary Stockton of Lousiana; sister, Bobbie Watson of California; Cheryl was a dedicated and loving NaNa to her granddaughters, Alexys "Lexy Girl" Morris, Haley Lawson, Brylee Lawson, and Laynee Lawson.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.

Her Celebration of Life Service will follow in the chapel with Doug Lubienski officiating.

SETH WAYNE WEBBER

Seth Wayne Webber, 25, passed away unexpectedly June 1, 2019.

He was a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, and a friend to all. He spent his time outside, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. He was greeted in heaven by his aunt, Pamela Dorris; uncle, Michael Dorris; grandfather, Bobbie Dorris; and several great-grandparents.

He is survived by: Mother, Stacey Donahue and husband Darrell; father, Scott Webber and fiancé, Savannah,; brother, Austin Donahue; sisters, Katelinn Pierson and husband Chase, Cierra Donahue, Alexis Webber, and Bella Webber.

Seth is survived by his two beautiful children, Carson and Hadley Webber, as well as his grandparents, Phyllis Dorris, Hubert Webber, Mary Paskell and husband Shannon, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.

Friends and family will meet 1:15 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home and proceed to Sartin Cemetery for a 2 p.m. graveside service with the Rev. Fate Green officiating.

MARJORIE ‘MARGE’ COLLINS ERTEL

Marjorie “Marge” Collins Ertel, 88, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior May 31, 2019, at Morning Pointe in Clinton with her family by her side.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she was born on Oct. 30, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Alice Beckler and Edward Collins. She was a member of Pomona Methodist Church in Crossville.

Marjorie was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Terrace Park High School. After marrying the love of her life she later settled down in Crossville, where she worked as an administrative assistant throughout most of her career and eventually retired in 1997.

Marjorie had a love for all animals and found pleasure in the outdoors enjoying gardening and camping.

Preceded in death by: Husband, George Ertel; brothers, Robert and Edward Collins; and sister, Miriam Carter.

Marjorie is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tonya Ertel of Clinton; sister, Delores Little of Sebastian Fla.; grandchildren, Jacob Ertel of Portland, Ore., and Haley Wolfe and husband Jesse of Knoxville; and great-grandson, Peyton Ertel of Oak Ridge.

A special thank you to the staff at Morning Pointe Assisted Living for their love and care for Marge over the last 5 years.

A memorial service will be held at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton t 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019, with the Dr. Michael Thompson officiating.

LUCILLE BEETS

Lucille Beets, 82, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Campbell County to the late Lawrence Cooper on March 7, 1937. Lucille was a member of Farmer’s Grove Baptist Church.

Survived by: Husband of 59 years, Moss Beets; sons, Larry Beets and wife Rosetta, Jerry Beets and wife Linda; daughter, Brenda Brown and husband Brian; sister, Wilma Jean Myers; beloved grandchildren, Karlee Beets and Eli Beets

DONALD RAY WILSON

Donald Ray Wilson, better known as, “Don,” 77, Briceville, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family and grandkids very much. Don loved the Lord and his church, Light House Church of God in Lake City, where he was a member. He enjoyed watching Gunsmoke. Don had a kind heart and would help anyone in every way he could. He enjoyed life with his family, laughing and joking around.

Don was preceded in death by: Parents, Fisher and Myrtle Wilson; brothers, Larry Wilson and Jr. Wilson; sisters, Ruby West and Evelyn Schaffer.

Don is survived by: Wife, Rosa Lee Wilson of 52 years of Briceville; sons, Paul Wilson and wife Debora of Lake City, and Donnie Wilson and wife Tammy of Lake City; brother, Paul Wilson and wife Brenda of Caryville; sisters, Karen Kennedy and husband Ricky of Briceville, and Joyce Sharp of Briceville; granddaughter, Lanita Johnston and husband Jay; grandsons, Donnie Jr. and Dustin Wilson; great-grandchildren, Lilly Johnston, and Tegan Johnston; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Don’s family will receive his friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, with his funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, with the Rev. Estel Sharp and the Rev. Jamie Brewster officiating.

Don’s interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Circle Cemetery in Briceville.

MARY LYNN (WOODS) BYRD

On Monday, May 27, 2019, Mary Lynn (Woods) Byrd, Rocky Top, became one of heaven’s angels.

Born Sept. 4, 1947, to parents S.B. and Mildred (Hatmaker) Woods, she was a graduate of Man High School in Man, W.Va., and attended Marshall University in West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by: Father, S.B. Woods; brother, Brian Woods; sister, Francis Woods; grandmother, Ethel Hatmaker; grandfather, Ben Hatmaker; aunts and uncles on the Woods and Hatmaker sides.

Survived by: Mother, Mildred Woods; sister, Betty Jo (B.J.) Pace and husband John; brother, Terry Woods and wife Rita; sons, Tim Taylor and wife Deanna, and James Taylor and wife Sondra; grandchildren, Brandon, Kiersten, Braelyn, and Michael Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She fought a long hard battle of heart and kidney disease and is suffering no more.

A very special “thank you” for the love and care of the south floor nurses at Summit View and University of Tennessee Hospice.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Rocky Top, with service following.

Pastor Wayne Phillips from Main Street Baptist Church is officiating.

The interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her father and brother.

AMY LeANN BROWN

Amy LeAnn Brown, 44, Knoxville, passed away May 27, 2019, at Summit View in Rocky Top.

She was of Christian faith. She attended Pellissippi State Community College where she earned a degree in financial management. She was a voracious reader and an extremely articulate writer. She had a special place in her heart for stray animals, and they loved her as well. Though without question the most glowing quality she will be remembered for was her inexorable love and compassion for her children.

She was preceded in death by: Mother and father, David and Lola Smith; grandparents, John and Betty Lamb; grandfather, Millard Smith; and her beloved adoptive mother, Aunt Jean Pinkston.

Amy is survived by: Daughters, Candace Warrick and Lily Brown; brother, John Dee Smith; grandmother, Kathryn Smith; uncle and aunt, Jr. and Charlotte Smith; aunt, Brenda Clark; uncle and aunt, Earl and Linda Lamb, all of Knoxville; aunt and uncle, Kathy and Gary Hall of Chickamauga, Ga.; dear friend and roommate, Carrie Cardwell; and all of the staff at Summit View at Rocky Top.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Living Waters Baptist Church, located at 3315 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, with Pastor Jamie Webber officiating.

BETTY J. BOYD (WORD)

Betty J. Boyd (Word), 82, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Coal Creek to the late Charles Word and Ida Belle Word (Lindsay). She was a long-standing member of Main Street Baptist Church in Rocky Top. She lived in Toledo, Ohio, for 30 years and 52 years in Lake City. She worked at Metcraft, Rite Aid in Toledo, and as a CNA in Toledo and Lake City for nursing homes for many years. She loved Football and Basketball and especially the Tennessee Lady Vols. She was very active with her great-grandchildren, Austin Boyd and Alex Boyd, that she was raising, plus all their friends. They all called her, “Grandma.” She loved cats and her beloved dog, Princess.

Betty was preceeded in death by: Parents, Charles Word, Ida Belle Word (Lindsay); sons, Dee Dee Boyd and Terry Boyd; ex-husband, Billie Jack Boyd.

Survived by: Sister, Maggie S. Lively; daughter-in-Law, Vickie Boyd; grandchildren, Billie Boyd and Nichole Boyd; great-grandchildren, Austin Boyd, Amber Sexton and Alex Boyd; and nephew, Michael Lively and wife Melissa Lively.
