For ‘Joe’

Anderson County Commission honored former Rocky Top resident Fredrick “Joe” Lamb with a courtesy resolution on Monday, Sept. 18, during the commissioner’s meeting at 6 p.m. Lamb, 76 years old, passed away on Aug. 19, was a veteran of the Army National Guard, and a 20-year member of the Medford Volunteer Fire Department who was known as “a relentless and highly dedicated supporter” of the fire department. “Joe was an inspiration to many in our community, with an uncanny ability to put a smile on anyone’s face,” read Shain Vowell, Dist. 4 commissioner, from the county’s resolution honoring Lamb. Lamb’s widow, Elsie, is pictured standing between Tim Isbel, Dist. 4 commissioner, and Vowell, as she was presented the plaque honoring Lamb for his community service and dedication.
