Four Mavs named to TFCA All-State Team
Four members of the Anderson County High School Mavericks were named to the Class 4A All-State Team last week.
Among those named to the team are:
• Stanton Martin, quarterback — Martin who was previously named to the Tennessee Sportswriters Association All-State team was also a finalist for Tennessee Titans’ Class 4A Mr. Football as well being All-Region and Region 2-4A MVP.
He threw for 3,683 yards and 46 touchdowns as a junior.
• Dalton Wilson, wide receiver — Wilson was also previously named to the TSWA Class 4A All-State Team. He was also an All-Region selection. In 2017, he had 58 catches for 1,104 yards and 19 touchdowns.
• Clayton Utley, kicker — Like Martin and Wilson, Utley was also named to the TSWA Class 4A All-State Team. He was the 2017 Region 2-4A Kicking Specialist of the Year and a member of the All-Region squad.
• Trey Noe, defensive lineman — Noe was All-Region and Region 2-4A Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2017. A force on both sides of the ball, Noe finished the 2017 campaign with 32 tackles (with 8.5 for loss) and four sacks. He also blocked a punt in the quarterfinal game against Greeneville, which led to a touchdown.
The latest selections give the Mavericks seven All-State players between the TSWA and TFCA All-State teams.
