South Clinton holds Empty Bowls event
Empty Bowls is a community service project to raise both money and awareness in the ght to end hunger. It was held Friday, Feb. 23 at South Clinton Elementary School.
Empty bowls uses art to teach students about issues of hunger and to allow students to participate in giving back to our community. All three schools from Clinton City Schools participated in this project.
Mrs. Ashley Webb, art teacher at SCES and NCES, taught students how to form, paint, and prepare a clay bowl for ring.
A soup dinner was served, a silent auction for teacher bowls was held, and students donated canned food. All proceeds from our event will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of East. Empty bowls led to full hearts that evening.
