$1M suit filed against one of Jones’ accusers
Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk William Jones has filed a lawsuit against one of his accusers in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations posted against him.
Jones is represented by Clinton attorney David Stuart.
Jones is stating that the information an accuser disclosed to Anderson County Human Resources professionals Russell Bearden and Kim Whitaker is untrue and defamatory.
Jones stated that the alleged defamatory statements have exposed and continue to expose him to wrath, public hatred, contempt, and ridicule; also, that it is depriving him of public confidence and social interaction.
Jones also states in the suit that he believes that the accuser entered into a combination with other co-conspirators to accomplish an unlawful purpose: Damaging his reputation by falsely accusing him of sexual harassment.
Jones is looking for compensation of $1 million.
