Boys and Girls Club reward

For the second year, Melissa and Jim Charles have joined with the North Anderson County Boys and Girls Club to reward kids who qualify with a new bike or sporting equipment. This year 35 kids received bikes and another seven received sporting equipment. Each kid that received a bike was fitted with a new helmet provided by the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee. All kids who attend the club, along with family members were served pizza and drinks and photos of the kids were taken. To qualify for a bike the kids have to meet the following criteria: 95-percent school attendance, 75-percent club attendance, C grade average, good behavior and agree to wear a helmet. The North Anderson County Club is part of the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley. For more information on the Boys and Girls Club or to donate to the club call (865) 232-1234.
