The Antique Merchants Guild of Clinton would like to thank all who helped make the 14th Annual Clinch River Spring Antique Fair a success.
The Fair would not have been possible without support from the City of Clinton, Clinton Police Department and Clinton Parks and Recreation plus a very special thanks to our long time sponsors, Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge and The Community Bank of East Tennessee.
Friday’s kick-off party had wonderful music provided by Wild Blue Yonder and delicious food by local food trucks to keep us partying all night long. A fitting start to Saturday’s Antiques Fair began with a “Presentation of Colors” at 9 am by the Anderson County High School Navy Junior ROTC and an introduction from retired Army veteran Jason Deel of JD’s Auction in Clinton. Thank you Chief Allen Davis, the ROTC Cadets and JD for a fitting start to this year’s Show. We would also like to thank the Clinton chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America for the display of antique vehicles during the event on Saturday.
We would also like to acknowledge the excellent press coverage provided for this event by Kim Webber and the rest of the staff at Clinton Courier News, and the folks at WVLT television station and WYSH Radio.
We also wish to thank Memorial United Methodist Church for allowing us the use of their side parking area, Hoskins in the Flat for the use of their parking area for our food court, Clinton Baptist Association for hosting the Vendor Hospitality Area and Myers Family Dentistry for use of their property for antiques vendors.
A special thank you to all the local food vendors that came and set up in Hoskins/Lane Park and on Cullom Street, we thank these vendors for the delicious food that they bring for all of us to enjoy. And of course, thank you to all the antiques vendors that come from many miles to set up in downtown Clinton so we can enjoy their unique antiques and collectibles.
The Fair is a collaborative effort and we appreciate all that are involved in making it a success. Many individuals volunteered their time and energy both in setting up and keeping the fair running throughout the day. A very special thank you to those folks who braved the wee hours of the morning to help set the antique fair into motion on Saturday morning: Marcia Pemberton from Corner Antiques, Tony Cox from the Clinton Courier News and Sanford Katine of The Shoppe at 350 Market.
These fine folks along with Glen Galen, our antique vendor logistics specialist from The Antique Market, saw that everything went smoothly in getting the antique vendors into place and ready for all the visitors to downtown Clinton.
We also appreciate Steve Andrews for his time, energy and assistance throughout the entire weekend to keep things moving while each of us are busy in our shops.
We would also like to thank Girl Scout Troop 20201 and their Troop Leaders, Missy Edmondson and Danielle Wilkerson who helped by staffing our information booth during the Antique Fair. We would also like to thank all of our Downtown Merchants and Businesses for their participation in supporting this event each year.
We cannot forget to acknowledge the members of the Antique Merchants Guild for their dedication in bringing this event to Historic Downtown Clinton each spring. There is a lot of work that goes into the planning, promoting and executing an event this size, and we are very fortunate to have some dedicated individuals that work hard with us on this project each year, specifically, Marcia Pemberton, Art Miller, Clay Good, Glen Galen and most especially, Jerry Ellenburg, without whom this fair would not have taken place.
Finally, we would like to thank all the visitors from the Clinton Community and surrounding areas for their attendance at this 14th Annual Clinch River Spring Antique Fair.
