Clayton Homes earns award of excellence

Clayton Home Building Group, a Clayton company and one of America’s largest home builders, had four manufacturing locations awarded Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) Governor’s Award of Excellence, Monday, during the Tennessee Safety and Health Conference at the Opryland Hotel.

The Governor’s Award of Excellence is a TOSHA Safety Award that is available to any manufacturing or construction firm located within the state of Tennessee. TOSHA annually awards companies for the prevention of workplace injury through employer and employee safety programs. Clayton claimed four of the seven awards during the ceremony.

TRU Homes Halls, Clayton Maynardville Frame Shop, Clayton Norris Frame Shop and Clayton Supply-Classic Panel of Tennessee all qualified for the prestigious recognition by the state of Tennessee.

The four Clayton facilities have a combined 230 team members and completed a total of 700,000 hours of work without a lost day or restricted duty accident.

“The safety of our team members is our utmost priority,” said Marty Bostrom, Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Clayton Home Building Group. “Our teams at every location are committed to maintaining a safe work environment, and we are truly honored to receive these awards.”

To qualify, each facility compiles a set total of man-hours worked without a lost workday or restricted duty incident. The required hours worked without injury is based on the number of team members at each location.
