Two more days for ‘Turkey shoot’

The Norris Lions Club is holding its annual Turkey Shoot on Nov. 10, and 17 just in time to win a turkey for Thanksgiving.

The event hours are 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. each Saturday. This is one of the largest Turkey Shoots in the area attracting about 200 shooters each year.

The turkey shoot site is approximately 2.5 miles from Exit 122 off of Interstate 75 North. This is the Clinton/Norris exit, Highway 61. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp heading toward Andersonville. You will find the site on the right about 1.1 miles past the traffic light at Norris.

There are rounds shot for turkeys and hams with twelve shooters and twelve targets for each round. Usually there are some rounds reserved for kids so that they are not competing against adults.

Everyone is welcome at the event, however, there are restrictions on some types of modified guns.

You may contact Wayne Morris at 865-405-4767 for further clarification. You do not have to own or bring a shotgun to participate. The Lions Club will have extra guns available to the public at no extra charge.

For more information about the Turkey Shoot you may call Roy Langheld, the event chairman, at 865-494-5853.
