Meth, heroin, pills seized in Briceville
On Feb. 13, agents with the seventh judicial district crime task force seized a whole lot of illegal drugs after executing a series of search warrants at a home in Briceville.
Agents discovered 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 21 grams of heroin and hundreds of prescription pills, according to a press release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
The street value of all the illegal substances is $53,000.
The suspect and owner of the home was located and interviewed.
“The seizure of these narcotics dealt a massive blow to the narcotics trade not only in Anderson County but, all of east Tennessee,” said Anderson County Sheriff Russell Barker.
District Attorney General Dave Clark said that a seizure of that size “undoubtedly saved lives by preventing overdoses throughout East Tennessee.”
Both Barker and Clark commended the agents for their work and noted that this collaborative effort between different law enforcement agencies continues to be the most effective way to dealing with narcotics trafficking in the area, according to the press release.
Charges are pending at this time.
