Soccer play day

On the morning of Aug. 3, players and families from eight East Tennessee teams met at the soccer fields in front of the Anderson County Detention Center to celebrate soccer and test themselves against one another before the season officially begins. The teams consisted of Clinton High School, Anderson County, Scott County, Greenback, Oneida, Pigeon Force, Harriman, and Seymour. Each team played three 40-minute games. Parents got a chance to see the players showcase their skills earned through long hours of practice over the summer, and coaches got a chance to see how their players performed in a competitive environment. Undoubtedly it was a great time for them to assess weak points and prioritize which skills need the most practice in the weeks to come. Pictured is action from Seymour and Clinton.
