This year’s first prize goes to the front-porch-sittin’ Sleepy-Eyed John’s Music and Clogging.

A float featuring the Water Tower and Green Bridge while showing another small town, Bethlehem, was entered by Truth Way Baptist Church. It took third place.

The parade also had several honorable mentions: Drop ‘n’ Go Dumpsters, Clinton Lions Club (pictured) and South Clinton Baptist Church.

The grand marshal of this year’s parade was Dr. Joseph Rainey, accompanied by his wife, Pam.

Clinton City Schools and the CCS Express were awarded second place at the parade Saturday night.
Clinton’s traditional Christmas Parade of bands, floats and processional entries was held on Saturday, Dec. 7.
This year’s theme was “A Small Town Christmas,” with nearly 100 entries. Thousands of spectators lined Market and Main streets.
The grand marshal of this year’s parade was Dr. Joseph Rainey, accompanied by his wife, Pam.
Rainey is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1959 until 1961.
In 1961, Rainey opened a dental practice in downtown Clinton, where he remained until 2002. He was named the Clinton Jaycees Young Man of the Year in 1965.
Rainey is still teaching at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. He and his wife still live in Clinton.

Second place rolled into town on the CCS Express – Clinton City Schools.
The third prize brought the Water Tower and Green Bridge to Market Street while showing another small town, Bethlehem; it was entered by Truth Way Baptist Church.

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce said it would like to thank all the entries for participating in the parade and looks forward to continuing this long-held tradition in 2020.
Next year’s parade has been set for Dec. 5.
