Two hearts beating in the same body
One heart beats faster
Two people, one large, one small,
Breathing the same air,
Eating the same food,
Thinking the same thoughts,
Living in the same space.
A continuum repeated again and again like
Beads in a necklace a thousand times
Tiny heart beating, beating, beating … staccato
Growing, growing each day.
But the child is Jesus, God incarnate,
Savior of the world
And that changes everything.
