Alley earns Three Star certification
The certificate was presented on behalf of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers by the executive director, Will Denami.
“The Three Star Certification is a professional standard of operations recognized by the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers,” Denami said. “The certification represents an operational analysis for compliance in the numerous standards monitored by the division of property assessments, as well as, a demonstrated commitment to continuing education. Johnny Alley has done a good job for the citizens of Anderson County in keeping this high standard.”
And Alley commented: “I am proud for our office to achieve the Three Star Certification standard. We stay committed to doing the best job we can for our taxpayers by making sure everyone is treated fairly. Part of the way we do that is by staying current on the changing legal landscape and best practices.
“It is an honor to serve the people of Anderson County and we will continue to do the best job we can for them,” he said.
The Three Star Certification is an annual certification process in which each property assessor’s office is independently reviewed for technical compliance by the Comptroller’s division of property assessments.
Each office must successfully complete the monitoring process and the necessary continuing-education requirements for the assessor of property. Once the standards are met, the assessor submits an application to the association. The association is a professional organization composed of the elected officials serving as assessors in Tennessee.
