Daniel Bethel (13) committed to the University of Mississippi this past week, becoming the first Anderson County alumnus to play in the Southeastern Conference.

Bethel said about his signing:

“First, I would like to thank God for giving me the ability to kick and have all these opportunities. I want to thank my parents for taking me to camps, training, and supporting my dream of becoming a D1 punter. To ACHS, you guys are family. I love our school and our team. To James Wilhoit, you started me kicking and showed me the Wilhoit Way and I’m glad I’m in the elite group of Tennessee specialists. With that being said, I am proud to announce my commitment to play in the SEC with my good friend Caden Costa at Ole Miss. Thank you Coach Gideon and Coach Kiffin for the opportunity.”
