Oak Ridge Unitarian rummage sale returns this weekend

After nearly two years, Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, by popular request, will resume holding its semi-annual rummage sale. Bargain hunters mark your calendars for Friday, June 4, from noon-6 p.m., and from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, June 5. The church is at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Proceeds raised will help to support various outreach ministries of the church.

“To help ensure everyone’s safety, there will be some changes this year,” said sale organizer Amanda Fishel.

“Shoppers and volunteers will be required to wear a mask at all times. To promote social distancing, only 75 people at a time will be permitted inside the building.

“There are longer hours to shop, and a tent was added to make more room for displaying items,” she said.

For many shoppers the sale is highly anticipated for renewing and refurbishing wardrobes for the entire family.

Shoppers will find linens, kitchenware, small appliances, furniture, home-décor items, DVDs, CDs, books, baby items, toys, tools, athletic equipment, garden equipment, TVs and other electronic devices, clothing and shoes.

Shoppers may prefer shopping the presale on Friday to get the best selection.
