Concentrate on our real problems

EDITOR:

In response to Rep. John Ragan’s letter of July 14 where he asks me why I would object to a law prohibiting the teaching of critical race theory in public schools when it’s not being taught there, I, in turn, must ask “Why?” Why bother creating the bill in the first place?

Again, this culture-war tactic, and many others employed by the Republican-dominated Tennessee General Assembly in its latest session, are meant only to distract us from the very real problems we face in this state and this country – problems they are unable or unwilling to address.
