2021’s 4-H pullet and auction was a huge success
This year’s 4-H Pullet Show and Auction was amazing.
I know the other 4-Hers feel the same gratitude that I feel for the amazing attendance at this year’s event. We are so thankful to all the attendees that were able to attend this year’s event.
Thank you to all that was able to come out and show your support for the 4-H Chick Chain members who raised the pullets and for supporting Anderson County 4-H.
I personally want to thank the teacher from Grand Oaks Elementary School that bid and purchased my pullets, Rex Lynch; Gary Long; Lillian Calhoun, who helped hand out trophies; the judge who came all the way from Elk Valley to judge our pullets, Ken Leinart from the Courier News (thank you for accepting my invitation); Donna Carter (we could not ask for a more loving, caring and devoted 4-H director); the Stephenson Family 4-H Endowment; and Bear Stephenson for being the auctioneer and donating his time to this wonderful program again this year.
There were more guests, bidders, families, friends and pullets this year than last year and I was so thankful for the turnout.
Competition this year was tough, with a lot of great members participating with their great-looking pullets.
This was my second year competing and I’ve learned so very much from this wonderful program.
I placed overall grand champion of the show again this year. I also received a medal for grand champion poultry premier exhibitor, grand champion in my division of white leghorn, and grand champion of the Feathered Friday Photo Contest.
I could not do it without God; my supportive, loving family; Mrs. Donna; and what I’ve learned in the chick chain program. I can’t wait for next year’s chick chain project.
