A note from ...

A tremendous season for the Clinton Dragons comes to an end with arguably the biggest victory in recent years.

The Dragons not only took care of the Karns Beavers 50-7, but held the nation’s leading rusher to 86 yards, the only time this season DeSean Bishop had been held below 215 yards. The Dragons’ defense dominated all over the field this year, led by Seniors Cole Todora, Connor Moody and Junior Caleb Cook.

Todora led the team in tackles with 49 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. Connor Moody led the team with 12 tackles for loss, totaling 46 yards; he also had a blocked punt and recovery for a touchdown, and an interception. Caleb Cook finished third with 46 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss.

Other Dragon defenders that stood out included Sophomore Brandon Hollifield with a team-leading two sacks. Senior Rodayvien ‘Dodi’ Truss with two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, a 98-yard school record kick return for a touchdown against Austin-East, and five pass breakups. Senior Andy King added to the defensive/special teams scoring with his strip and return for a touchdown against William Blount. Last but not least, Senior Jackson West finished the scoring for the Dragons this year, after Moody forced a fumble, and West scooped the ball up, racing 41 yards for the Touchdown.



On the offensive side, Sophomore Joshuah Keith finished with 1,743 passing yards and 9 touchdowns. Senior Jeremiah Blauvelt led the receiving with 564 yards and 2 touchdowns. Seniors Dodi Truss and Trace Thackerson had three touchdowns, and Senior Andy King had 2. Thackerson also threw for a score this year. Rushing.Senior Connor Moody led the team with 417 yards and 10 touchdowns. Junior Erreese King also had four scores. Newcomer Sophomore Chauncey Felts raced to second on the team with 207 and 3 scores along with Joshuah Keith. William Taylor and Andy King also added touchdowns on the ground this year.



Overall, this was an amazing season for the Dragons with their first winning season since 2014, fourth since the turn of the century. The Dragons scored 249 points in 9 games, with a total of 37 touchdowns. Now it’s time for Basketball season featuring a returning Dragons’ team that had zero seniors in 2020.
