Fly-tying class in Norris available beginning Jan. 15; runs through Feb. 26

Mark your calendar for introductory fly tying classes to be held at the Episcopal Church in Norris starting Saturday, Jan. 15.

All classes will be at the church and start at 9 a.m and last until noon. All materials and tools will be provided by the chapter.

There will be experienced tyers demonstrating each fly, along with experienced tyers providing one-on-one help in the class.

Participants will learn to tie nine different patterns over the course of six weeks.

The course will run through Feb. 26. In the event of a snow day, March 5 is set aside as a make-up day.

In this class you will learn techniques that will give you the ability to tie many other styles and types of flies to fish tailwaters and our mountain streams.

The cost of the six-week class is $125 per person. This makes a great Christmas gift for anglers who have thought they would like to tie their own flies but maybe aren’t sure how or where to start.

The location is St. Francis Episcopal Church, 158 West Norris Rd.

The class is limited to 12 students.

Registration will be on first-come basis.
