Mosaic Tables with Penny James
Thursday, March 24, from 1– 4 p.m. and Friday, March 25, from 10 a.m. –noon.
Students will learn how to make a mosaic table platter using several types of media: rocks, glass, etc. The instructor will have a variety of patterns to choose from. No experience required. Registration deadline is March 17
Whittling the Wooden Chain & Ball-in-Cage with Don Tevault
Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The wooden link chain and ball-in-cage have always been one of the whittler’s favorite tricks. This craft is sometimes called hobo art because a pocketknife and stick would almost always be available. Students will be introduced to a technique for whittling the link chain and ball-in-cage. Students should bring their favorite sharp knife. The instructor will have some knives available if needed. Some degree of comfort with using a knife would be desirable but not mandatory.Registration deadline is March 19
Introduction to
Rug Hooking with Lara Beard
Thursday, March 31, and April 7 from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (two sessions).
Students will learn techniques to create original works of art using wool yarns and textiles. Students will complete a small sheep-themed project and will learn multiple ways to finish and display their piece. No experience required. Registration deadlineis March 24
