Thank you, Clinton
EDITOR:
After a two-year pause, The Antique Merchants Guild of Clinton held the 17th Clinch River Spring Antique Fair on May 6 and 7.
The event committee planned the first two-day Spring Fair with antique vendors on both Friday and Saturday, and although the weather was a factor on the first day, we still had a large turnout and consider this year’s event a success.
The Spring Antique Fair was made possible through the diligent work and planning of our AMGC volunteers, Clay Good, Jerry Ellenburg, Art Miller, Mollie Farrar, and with our new partner Katherine Birkbeck with Historic Downtown Clinton and the Tennessee Main Street Program. Thank you for your dedicated work on this year’s event.
Thank you also to the city of Clinton, the Clinton Police Department, Clinton Parks and Recreation, Dudley and Jenks Bostic and Memorial United Methodist Church for their cooperation and help with this event.
On both days, the streets in Historic Downtown Clinton were filled with shoppers searching through the varied displays set up by antique dealers who came from Tennessee and surrounding states to sell their furniture and collectibles. All the antiques and specialty stores were fully stocked and had spring sales to entice the shoppers who came to town. A variety of local food vendors and food trucks were available throughout the weekend. Thank you to all these antique and food vendors as well as the shop owners for their hard work to make this weekend a success.
We would also like to thank Chief Allen Davis and the cadets of Anderson County High School Navy Junior ROTC for starting our Saturday morning with a presentation of colors, and retired Army veteran Jason Deel of JD’s Auction in Clinton, who served as master of ceremonies.
All enjoyed the antique car display made possible through the Clinton chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and Saturday’s entertainment by Josh Smith in Hoskins Park.
Finally, we would like to thank all who attended. We love seeing all our many customers and friends, plus the many new folks who came to Clinton to shop and to socialize. Thank you all for a wonderful weekend!
Thank you,
Angela Galen,
President
