Whitaker opened the branch in October 1994, and has been assistant vice president and branch manager since it opened. The bank, at 2152 N. Charles G. Seivers Blvd., hosted the reception, which included a visit by the Little Miss Mavs Cheerleaders, who posed for a photo with Whitaker, then did a cheer routine in his honor. Whitaker, 64, is a Clinton native, and plans to remain in the area in his retirement.
“I’ve bought a boat,” he said. “I’m not much of a fisherman, but I love being out on the lake.”
He said he will spend more time now with his wife, Donna. Whitaker also is a longtime member of the Clinton Rotary Club, where he currently serves as service pro-jects chairman.
