Getting the fair ready

  • The Best Six Days of Summer started Monday, but the local UT Extension Office located at the Anderson County Courthouse started accepting 4-H fair entries on Monday, July 10 — a week earlier. Volunteers worked hard all week taking in entries, organizing and labeling all the items that local 4-Hers had worked. On Saturday, July 15, volunteers took in the very last of the 4-H entries. • The Anderson County Fair Board along with the Youth Fair Board and other team members have been working hard for weeks leading up to the day the gates opened. A lot goes into the fair. The Fair Board and Youth Board Members and others were up bright and early making sure everything was in place for when the gates opened —from dusting, sweeping, wiping off tables, to hanging signs and putting up barricades for parking. - EmmaGrace Bridges
