Students to lead programs at AMSE
At a recent membership gala event, the American Museum of Science and Energy Director Alan Lowe announced a future partnership with Oak Ridge Schools.
Likely to start in February, the partnership will include having students give presentations at the museum on Wednesday afternoons.
“It’s going to be a great way for us to connect with Oak Ridge High School and show off some really amazing students,” he said.
Matt Mullins, marketing and communications director, said the students would lead presentations on technology subjects such as artificial intelligence, drones and digital twins – a way of simulating how small changes can make otherwise similar things diverge.
He said he hoped Oak Ridge National Laboratory and technology companies would be involved in these programs, too.
Lowe said it could help connect students to experts working in the relevant fields.
