Senators advance to region play

Norris Middle School’s baseball team dropped its district championship game in heartbreaking fashion as it lost to Cherokee, 3-2, on Tuesday, April 30.

Cherokee won the game when Rylan Myers drew a walk with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Senators, who played in a region tournament game Tuesday (results were not available at press time) have suffered all three of their losses at the hands of Cherokees.

Norris (20-3) lost twice to Cherokee during the regular season, falling 17-11 on April 25 and 10-4 on April 22.

In the district championship game, Levi Skeen went 2-for-3 and hit a solo home run and Will Goehring went 0-for-3 with an RBI.
