All-district soccer honors earned
Anderson County and Clinton both had soccer players named to the All-District 4-AA boys soccer team by the league’s coaches recently.
The Mavericks, who finished second in the regular-season standings and were runners-up in the District 4-AA Tournament before being eliminated in the regional semifinals, saw their goalkeeper, Kaleb Weatherington, named Goalkeeper of the
Year.
Weatherington made the all-district team along with teammates Caiden Miller, Foster Madron, Martin Lechuga and Muller Gudino.
Clinton High’s Cristian Gutierrez was named Midfielder of the Year. He also received all-district honors. He was joined on the all-district team by the Dragons’ Julio Del Valle and Robino Rivera.
