Wildcats honored for state tournament run
The Oak Ridge City Council honored the Oak Ridge High School Wildcat baseball team, pictured here, at its May 3 meeting with a resolution noting the team’s school record 28 wins, reaching the state tournament for the first time in 52 years, winning the district championship for the first time in 22 years, and earning berths in the region and sub-state tournaments for the first time in 31 years. “The city of Oak Ridge is fortunate to have such outstanding athletes among its citizens, as well as such an outstanding coaching staff,” the resolution stated.
