Anderson County wrestling camp is July 17-20

Anderson County High School will host a summer youth wrestling camp July 17-20.

Cost is $115 and athletes must register by July 1.

The beginners’ and youth camp sessions will be held from 9 a.m.-noon, and the high school and advanced sessions will take place from 1-7 p.m.

One of the camp instructors will be Lehigh University Assistant Coach Jarrod Garnett, who was an All-American at Virginia Tech.

A tournament will be held on the final day of camp.

Clinton softball camp set for July 18

Clinton High School will host a youth softball hitting camp at its indoor hitting facility July 18.

The camp will be run by Dobbins Softball Consulting and Development, and presented by Decker Sports.

The camp is open to players ages 12-18, and will feature three sessions. The first session runs from 10 a.m.-noon. The second is 12:30-2:30 p.m., and the third will be conducted from 3-5 p.m.

Cost is $115, and pre-registration is required.

Coaches from Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee State University, Chattanooga, West Georgia University, Tennessee Tech and Eastern Kentucky will serve as instructors.
