County looking for volunteers to fill positions on beer, animal-care boards
The Anderson County Board of Commissioners and the Nominating Committee are looking for citizens who would like to serve on the following committees:
• Anderson County Beer Board -- Two members to serve a three-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2027.
The Beer Board was established for the purpose of licensing, regulating and controlling the transportation, storage, sale, distribution, possession, receipt and/or manufacture of beer.
• Anderson County Animal Care Advisory Committee -- One citizen to serve a one-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2025.
The Animal Care Advisory Committee was created in a collaborative community effort to provide professional and humane care to animals housed in the county Animal Shelter.
• Civil Service Board -- One member to serve a three-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2027.
In accordance with state law, the Civil Service Board is composed of three members selected by the legislative body.
All members of the board shall be over 18, of good moral character, citizens of the United States and the state of Tennessee, and must reside in Anderson County, and they shall not hold any elected or appointed office within the county.

Deadline for consideration as a nominee will be at noon on Friday, Aug. 9, in the County Commission Office.
The Nominating Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, to consider applicants.
