Tickets available for Chamber’s Purses and Pearls event Aug. 20

Tickets are still available for the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce’s fifth-annual Purses and Pearls luncheon and auction to be held at Faith Promise Church in Clinton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Each ticket costs $50, and may be purchased online at tinyurl.com/purse2024.

The speaker for this year’s luncheon will be designer and entrepreneur Patricia Nash.

Address for the event is 1115 N. Charles G. Seivers Blvd., Suite 4. This is the shopping center where the Clinton Goodwill store also is located.



Senior Center announces speaker series beginning with Jeff Cole on Aug. 6

The Anderson County Senior Center has announced the start of its “Speedy Senior Speaker Series,” described as “a program built on sharing the knowledge you need in half the time.”

It will start on Tuesday, Aug. 6, featuring Anderson County Clerk Jeff Cole.

Each event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be held at the Senior Center, 96 Mariner Point Drive, Clinton.

People age 60 and older are invited to attend.

• Emergency Medical Services Assistant Director Scott Thomas will speak Aug. 8.

• County Trustee Regina Copeland will be the speaker Aug. 13.

• EMS Director Nathan Sweet will speak Aug. 28.

The Anderson County Office on Aging and Senior Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
