Historic Jackson Square tour, dance in Oak Ridge
Join a park ranger to tour Oak Ridge’s Jackson Square area and learn about the town’s early history at 6 p.m. Thursday Aug. 15.
Meet at 243 Jackson Square.
During the walking tour, called “Building America’s Secret City,” “rangers and visitors will discuss what it took to shape Oak Ridge during World War II through routines and traditions brought from near and far,” an official announcement stated.
The tour will end at 7 p.m. at Jackson Square’s tennis courts, just in time for a separate event that same day, the tennis court dance.
The open-air tennis court dances are held monthly on the third Thursday, and will continue Sept. 19 and Oct. 17.
