Meet the Mavs on Friday night
Anderson County High School will host its annual Meet the Mavs event from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the school’s football stadium.
The event, presented by the Anderson County football team, serves as the kickoff party for all the Mavericks and Lady Mavericks sports teams.
“We’ve done this for seven or eight years,” ACHS Athletic Director Gary Terry said. “It’s a big community event and it will be a great night.”
The event introduces Anderson County’s athletes to the community amd gives each program the chance to sell its merchandise to fans.
“There’ll be about 5-6,000 people there and we’ll introduce all of our teams and athletes and bring them out to the middle of the field and have them on the Jumbotron,” Terry said.
