Bostrom, Hollifield lead Clinton at Roane State meet
The Clinton High School cross country teams will take a break from competition during Fall Break this week.
The Dragons and Lady Dragons will return to action Oct. 12 for the Clinton 5K.
Clinton competed in the Roane State All-Comers Meet in Harriman on Oct. 2.
For the boys, Cooper Bostrom was Clinton’s top finisher, placing 14th with a time of 19 minutes, 45 seconds.
“Cooper is a sophomore, and he had a great time,” Clinton Coach Tim Kumes said.
Max Bostrom finished 49th with a time of 22:22. Tyler Gomez came in 62nd (24:49), and Gideon Follett placed 73rd (28:16).
The Lady Dragons had two entrants in last week’s race.
Alli Hollifield earned a Top 10 finish, placing eighth with a time of 19:45. Eva Allen finished 28th with a time of 30:28.
“Alli had a top-10 finish, and I’m really proud of all our kids,” Kumes said. “I’m proud of them for their effort, and I love their attitude.
“We’ll take some time off for Fall Break, then come back and run the Clinton 5K. After that, we’ll start preparing for the final stretch of the season and get ready for the region.”
