Clinton High School’s girls basketball team closed out the 2024-25 regular season with a pair of losses last week.

In their regular-season finale Friday night, the Lady Dragons fell 54-45 to Karns on the road, despite holding a 38-32 lead entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Beavers outscored Clinton 22-7 in the final eight minutes to secure the win and avenge an earlier loss to the Lady Dragons this season.

Josie Moody led Clinton with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Bailey Burroughs added 12 points, while Addi Gamble finished with 11.

Lauren Martin paced a balanced Karns offense with a game-high 17 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. She made seven free throws in the final period.

Rylee Roberts had 13 points, Reese Roberts chipped in nine, and Kiki Clay finished with eight.

Clinton opened the week with a 58-53 loss to Powell on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Don W. Lockard Gymnasium.

The Lady Dragons will now turn their attention to the 2025 District 4-AAA tournament at Union County High School in Maynardville.

As the No. 2 seed, Clinton has an opening-round bye and has already secured a spot in the Region 2-AAA tournament.

Clinton will play Thursday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Anderson County-Gibbs game.

The No. 3-seeded Lady Mavericks swept their regular-season series against the Lady Eagles.
