New AMSE exhibit to cover presidents and science
The American Museum of Science and Energy’s new exhibit “Ich Bin Ein Scientist! (I am a Scientist)” will cover how U.S. presidents shaped science and engineering.
The event will be on Friday, March 21. Refreshments start at 4 p.m.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. A showing of the film National Treasure will be at 5:30 p.m. The museum is at 115 E. Main Street.
“Visitors will uncover the stories of Thomas Jefferson’s role as a scientist and inventor, Abraham Lincoln’s establishment of the National Academy of Sciences, Franklin D. Roosevelt’s mobilization of scientific research during World War II, John F. Kennedy’s bold challenge to reach the Moon, and beyond,” an official announcement stated.
“Through interactive displays, historical artifacts, and multimedia presentations, Ich Bin Ein Scientist (I Am a Scientist) highlights the unique contributions of each administration to fields such as space exploration, energy innovation, medical research, and environmental policy. From the first presidential science advisors to the creation of NASA and the Human Genome Project, this exhibit offers an eye-opening journey through history.”
