Lady Senators close dominant season 22-1

Kinza Plummer of the Norris Lady Senators finished the 2025 season with 195 strikeouts.
The Lady Senators finished 22-1 and qualified for the state tournament, where they lost their final game.
Although the season ended in defeat, the bigger disappointment came when their next scheduled game, a consolation game against Ripley Middle School, was rained out.
“We lost the last time that we played, and then our next game got rained out — and that was really a bummer,” said Assistant Coach Johnna Plummer.
The Lady Senators featured five eighth-graders on their roster, including standout catcher/shortstop Alice Ogan. She belted two home runs and drove in a team-best 39 runs.
Fellow eighth-grader Rilynn Benson added 38 RBIs.
Sixth-grader Addisyn Armstrong, the lone team member attending Lake City Middle School, was among Norris’ top clutch hitters, finishing with 28 RBIs.
Seventh-grade pitcher Kinza Plummer turned in a dominant season in the circle.
“Kinza, our pitcher, is a seventh-grader, and she had 195 strikeouts — and that was one of the biggest reasons that it was a bummer our last game got rained out,” Coach Plummer said. “If we would’ve gotten to play, she would’ve hit 200 strikeouts for the season.”
Head Coach Kelsey Giles said the team’s mindset and resilience were key this year.
“This group had a lot of talent, and the biggest things I take away are their attitude and their ability to get timely hits,” Giles said. “They really brought their attitude to the field.
“Last year, we had some trouble getting timely hits, but this year we were hitting from beginning to end.”
