Rams shows toughness before late slip at Fort Loudoun
Robertsville Middle School dropped its second game of the young season last week. The Rams fell 24-6 to Fort Loudoun on Thursday night in Loudon.
Late-game mistakes proved costly for the Rams.
“We started out pretty well and it was a 12-6 game going into the fourth quarter,” Robertsville coach Tyler Carr said.
The Rams (0-2) scored their lone touchdown on defense as Ka’lil Wooden returned an interception 50 yards for a score.
“Ka’lil had a Pick 6 for us,” Carr said. “He ran it back about 50 yards and made a nice play.”
Robertsville has struggled to open 2025 after capturing the Tennessee Valley Athletic Conference championship last season. And Carr knows the road won’t get any easier.
This week, the Rams travel to Rhea County to face Spring City, which routed Clinton 36-6 last Thursday.
“It’s like those ‘Rocky’ movies,” Carr said. “They’re physical and they’ll tough you up. They don’t do anything fancy. They just beat you up. They just play good, physical, hard-nosed football and they do it well.”
