Hawks grounded at Spring City, look to rebound

Clinton Middle School’s football team hit the road for the first time in 2025, and the trip proved to be a tough one.

The Hawks dropped a 36-6 decision at Spring City on Thursday night in Rhea County.

Clinton coach Eric Woodard didn’t make any excuses after the loss.

“They just outplayed us,” Woodard said. “They just whipped our tails up front. They were big and physical, more physical than us.”

The Hawks (1-1) had one highlight when quarterback Weston Glandon connected with Levi Braden on a 45-yard touchdown pass.

“Now, we have to bounce back from this,” Woodard said. “You can’t wallow in it. That’s for sure.”

Clinton returns home this week to host Lenoir City. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
