Clinton City Schools offers free developmental screenings

Clinton City Schools is seeking to identify, locate and evaluate children who may have disabilities and need special-education services.

The district is offering free developmental screenings for infants through age 5 who are zoned for Clinton City Schools.

Screenings will assess vision, hearing, speech and language, motor skills, social development and preschool cognitive skills.

The effort is part of the district’s Child Find initiative, which helps parents determine whether their child is meeting age-appropriate milestones.

Each screening is expected to take about 45 minutes.

Parents or guardians who have concerns about their child’s development, learning, speech, behavior or academic progress may schedule a screening by contacting the Clinton City Schools Special Education Department at 865-457-0159 or cupplesk@clintonschools.org.
