Lady Mavs beat Bearden

Things got off to an inauspicious start for the Lady Mavericks, who fell behind 3-0 early.
But Anderson County bounced back and scored 13 unanswered runs.
“We got down 3-0, but then our bats got going and we won 13-3,” Lady Mavs Coach Lindsey Verner said after the victory.
Anderson County broke out of its offensive lull with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Lady Mavericks added another run in the fifth and six more in the sixth.
Cindle Justice went 2-for-3 with two doubles. She drove in two runs and scored once. Kara Waddell was 2-for-3. She tripled, scored two runs and drove in two more. Reece Brock had three hits, scored twice and added an RBI.
Trinity Lawson had two hits and drove in two runs for ACHS, which pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of five errors by the Lady Bulldogs.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Mavericks dropped a 4-0 decision to Gibbs.
Harlee Taylor had two hits against the Lady Eagles, while Ella Varner doubled.
“Against Gibbs, we played well, but we had an error and we just didn’t get our bats going,” Verner said.
On Monday, the Lady Mavericks dropped a 4-3 decision to Clinton despite outhitting the Lady Dragons 8-6.
Waddell had two hits, a stolen base and an RBI. Bella Brummett doubled and drove in a run. Marlea Finstad singled and scored, while Brock added a single and an RBI.
