The Kincaid house in Clinton displayed more than 500 pieces of art from students around the Anderson County school system at its eighth-annual art show.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade showed off many kinds of visual art: drawings, paintings, sculptures including ones of giant candy packages, ceramic objects, beadwork a quilt and more.

Subjects ranged from Neyland Stadium to flowers and Batman. All 19 schools in the school system participated.

Allison Greenhouse, art teacher at Norris Elementary School, said each teacher chooses about 30 pieces.

“So it’s pretty exciting if a student gets selected for the art show,” she said. The purpose is to showcase the students’ achievements.

“We look forward to it every year,” said Greenhouse. “And it’s really wonderful to have all the families come.”

She said she appreciated seeing students’ pride and excitement to show off their work to relatives.

Greenhouse said she appreciated works from all around the school system, not just at her own school.

There were traditional oil pastels and watercolors alongside Norris Middle and Lake City Middle schools’ candy sculptures, as well as Norris Middle School’s beadwork, the ceramic work and Anderson County High School’s altered books.
