The budget ordinance will be up for a second and final vote at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 22. As with other ordinances, it must pass twice to take effect.
The city does not plan to raise taxes. The ordinance sets the property tax rate at about 53 cents per $100 of assessed value on all real and personal property.
The budget includes:

• $558,000 for the School Federal Projects Fund.
• $633,400 for the School Central Cafeteria Fund.
The budget resolution lists capital outlay notes with debt redemption of $104,000, interest requirements of $10,325 and authorized and unissued debt of $1 million.

From the General Purpose School Fund, $511,500 would go toward education equipment and improvements.
Another $7,500 from the School Central Cafeteria Fund would go toward education equipment.
