Over the 250 years of its existence, people in the U.S.A. have had many ways to talk and spread messages and entertainment.

The American Museum of Science and Energy at 115 East Main Street in Oak Ridge is showcasing its Information Nation exhibit, which shows off some of these methods, many of them in interactive form.

Visitors can send a telegram, listen to old radio shows, type on a typewriter, use an older desktop, go inside a phone booth and more.

The museum’s regular hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1- 5 p.m.

Information Nation is part of the museum’s rotating exhibit area.

Regular exhibits show off nuclear science and supercomputing, among other developments tied to Oak Ridge.
