A former E911 dispatcher with the city of Clinton faces charges of two counts of rape of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Clinton Police Department and Tyler Lindsey, the E-911 dispatcher, learned of outstanding warrants for Lindsey’s arrest on June 23, a news release from the department posted to Facebook stated.

The CPD stated it assisted as Lindsey voluntarily turned himself in to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

“Lindsey was hired by the city of Clinton Police Department on June 15, 2012,” the CPD stated. “Lindsey was promoted to dispatch supervisor in April 2025. Throughout his 14-year tenure with the department, he has been a model employee with no prior disciplinary history.”

Following his arrest, the CPD immediately placed Lindsey on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of the ongoing criminal proceedings.

The CPD stated that the Knoxville Police Department was handling the case.

The department has made no further comments on Lindsay’s arrest and the status of staffing at the E-911 center in his absence.
