Billie Jo Carver, age 88 of Lake City passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her residence. She was born Dec. 6, 1929 in Briceville to the late Elmer and Evelyn Parks Foust. Billie Jo was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing.
Billie Jo is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo Carver, sisters, Emma Sue White and Betty White.
Survivors: Son, Elmer Carver and Betty , Lake City; daughters, Crystal Zimmerman and Terry, Lake City; Cathey McCroskey, Caryville; sister, Joyce Haire, Claxton; grandchildren, Evelyn Carver, Ivan Carver, Melissa Faubion, Cassie Wilinson, Aaron Mowery, Amanda Kennedy and Samuel McCroskey; 18 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home. The funeral service followed at 7 p.m. in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel.

RHONDA GLANDON WOODFIN

Rhonda Glandon Woodfin, of Andersonville, died peacefully on July 9, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was born in 1960 to Kelly Glandon and wife, Catherine Glandon, in Morristown.
Rhonda married Sammy Woodfin in August of 1980, and together they happily raised a family with two daughters, Ashley Arnold, wife of Lucas Arnold, of Knoxville, and Sara Meyer, wife of John Meyer, of Andersonville. As such, she leaves to cherish in love forever the following grandchildren: Raylan Arnold, Rese Meyer, Morgan Arnold, Avery Meyer, Landry Meyer, and Mia Arnold.
She is also survived by siblings, Cheryl Miles, of Cleveland and Kelly Glandon, of Knoxville.
For 25 years, Rhonda zealously served Norris Elementary School and Anderson County High School, where she was known by students and peers alike for her overwhelming kindness and passion to serve others.
At heart, Rhonda was a Norris soccer mom that loved Jesus, shopping with her mom and sister, and taking adventures with Sammy and the girls.
And lastly, Rhonda’s family will always cherish the special prayer passed on to the next generation, for which she taught her daughters to recite at a young age, as follows, “Dear Jesus, thank you for my family, thank you for my friends, and thank you for all my blessings. Please teach mommy and daddy, how to teach Ashley and Sara, how to love You, how to be good girls, and how to treat other people. We love You, and we praise You, in Your heavenly name, Amen.”
The family received friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Thursday, July 12, from 5-7 p.m. and a memorial service followed.

Bonnie Beatrice Foust Byrge, age 89 of Andersonville passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1929 in Campbell County to the late Levi and Irene Heatherly Harmon. Bonnie was a member of the Island Ford Baptist Church. She loved flowers and spending time with her family.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, first husband of 52 years, Verlin Foust, second husband of over 9 years, Mart Byrge, brother, Oscar Harmon, sisters, Betty Harmon Foust, Elizabeth Harmon Edmond, Janie Harmon Jobe and Mary Ruth Harmon Walden, grandchildren, Cynthia Foust and Angie Foust.
Survivors: Daughters, Carolyn Slover and Jerry; Kathy Foust, Linda Musgrave and Wayne; sons, Michael Foust, Buddy Foust; brother, Hubert Harmon; grandchildren, Thomas Jones, Rebecca Jones, Robert Jones, Sara Tallant, Tina Slover, Stacey Budensiek, Nathan Leinart, Michael Foust, Daniel Foust, David Foust, Laura Camilo, Selena Everhart, Scotty Foust and Matthew Foust; 29 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Island Ford Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Slover and Rev. Fred Long officiating.
Interment followed the funeral service at the Island Ford Cemetery.

Nancy Kathryn Giles Webber, 84, Clinton, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Summit View of Rocky Top.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by: Husbands, Frank Giles and Paul A. Webber; son, Jeff Giles; parents, John and Pauline Wilcox.
She is survived by: Daughter, Margie Green; sons, Jack (Darlene), William, Richard (Regina), and Kevin Giles; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from noon – 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Farmer’s Grove Baptist Church. Services followed at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Interment followed the service in the church cemetery.

LOUISE FRANCES ‘DIZ’ DEAN

Louise Frances “Diz” Dean, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning, July 7, 2018, at Morning Point Alzheimer’s Care Unit in Clinton.
She was born March 3, 1931, to the Rev. Earl Seiber and wife Leola Vann Seiber. After attending Clinton High School, she attended and graduated from Knoxville General Hospital School of Nursing with a BS in Nursing. She was employed as an RN for more than 35 years at the ORNL’s X10 plant. After her retirement there, she worked part-time as an RN for DOE. Before her battle with Alzheimer’s, she enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and lake, working in her garden, and enjoying time with her family and many close friends. She was a long time member of the Clinton First Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: Husband of 47 years, Richard Dean; daughter, Kimberly Dean Warwick; and brother, Leon Seiber.
She is survived by: Daughters, Pamela Dean Stockton and husband Ed, of Oliver Springs, and Cynthia Dean Nelson of Clinton. She also leaves brothers Fred Seiber and wife Sue of Clinton, and Harold Seiber and wife Jean, of Maryville. She is survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. Pastor David Speas of the Clinton First Wesleyan Church will be officiating.

Judy Kay (Duncan) Smith, 74, Jackson, Ky., passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky.
She was born July 3, 1944, in Briceville and was the daughter of the late Goldie and Novella (White) Duncan.
She was also preceded in death by: Husband, Hobert Smith; son, Anthony Steve Smith; five sisters, Irene Funk, Leoma Hawkins, Margaret Graham, Ruth Slover, and Annamae Slover; brother, Paul Duncan.
She is survived by: Daughter, Pamela (Charlie) Phillips of Tennessee; sons, Paul Smith (fiancee Susan Marshall) of Jackson, Ky., Gary Wayne Smith, and Mark Timothy Smith; sister, Ailene Stroude of Graysville; brother, John Duncan of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Victoria Smith, Steven and April Phillips, Sean Smith, Bradley Smith, Kyle Fraley and Ashley Fraley; two special friends, Minnie Marshall and Susie Marshall.
She is also survived by a host of cousins and other family members in Tennessee.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Overton and Gary Bellamy officiating.
Burial was in the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell at noon Saturday, July 7, 2018.
Visitation began at 5 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at the funeral home.

Selina Anna Overstreet-Bates, 58, Oak Ridge, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Selina was larger than life. She was a very giving person and thought of others before herself. Selina never met a stranger and everyone loved her. She was a collector of many things and will be missed dearly.
Selina was preceded in death by her father, Lee Carl Thompson.
Selina is survived by: Husband, Gary Bates and her mother, Gladys Thompson, both of Oak Ridge; sons, Michael Overstreet (Mary) and Clinton Stepp all of Knoxville; stepdaughter, Brittany Bates (Billy Schlott); brother, David Lewis (Joyce); and brother -in-law, Benny Bates (Gloria) all of Kingston; sister, Carla Lingerfelt of Knoxville; and sister-in-law, Judy Parker of Sanford, Fla.; grandchildren, Bradlee Stepp, Julia and Logan Overstreet; step grandchildren, Violet and Henry Schlott; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Selina’s family will receive her friends from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Jones Mortuary in Clinton, with her Celebration of Life immediately following in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary.
Selina’s graveside service and interment will be private.

Russell Claude Hart, 82, Clinton, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home in Clinton.
He was the best man in the world, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Russell retired from the U.S. Air Force and the VA Hospital in Gulfport, Miss. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Lake City.
Russell was preceded in death by: Parents, Harry and Betty Hart; and grandson, Gabriel Romeros.
Russell is survived by: Wife of 57 years, Martha Hart of Clinton; daughter, Wanda Bitterman of Clinton; brothers, Harry Hart Jr of Pennsylvania, Jim Hart of Oregon, and William Hart and wife Lucy of Pennsylvania; sister, Martha Hibig of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Chris Ferguson and Molly Romeros; great-grandchild, Xzavier Romeros; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Russel’s family will receive his friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with his funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Atkins and the Rev. Pete Lowe officiating.
Russell’s interment is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton with full military honors.
